Being a professional ecologist, and having lived and worked all over the world, I have a passion about our responsibility to the countries, to the people and to the wildlife we come in contact with.
We are guests of Africa and should therefore respect our hosts culture and environment.
With this in mind Sense Africa takes all the necessary precautions and gives all the necessary advice to ensure that your trip is a memorable one. We take into account the cultures, environments and economies we will have a direct and indirect effect on during a Sense Africa holiday and also in the UK.
- Sense Africa supports conservation and community initiatives to ensure that the future of Africa is sustained. Most of the accommodation that Sense Africa uses is, in same way or other, assisting the local communities and ensuring that conservation projects are supported.
- Sense Africa works with small local organisations, where possible, so that the immediate local economy benefits.
- Local guides are used at every opportunity as they know their country better than we could ever aspire to.
- Your carbon footprint is important. Sense Africa understands that travelling to Africa does create carbon dioxide which is attributing to climate change and global warming. Sense Africa will offset this through donations to Climate Care.
- Sense Africa ensures that we all travel responsibly whilst on holiday in Africa.
- Recycling paper, reducing water consumption, reducing electricity usage, supporting local shops and produce helps in a small way, both in Africa and the UK.
Sense Africa takes its responsibilities seriously, there is a future in travel, lets not abuse but instead respect it, support it and nurture it.
