How do I know what to expect with Sense Africa?

Whilst deciding on your holistic holiday you will speak in depth with Sense Africa to ensure that you have chosen the perfect destination for you. Before you go, you will receive a helpful handbook which includes your itinerary, what to take, top tips and other useful information about your holistic holiday to Africa.

Do I need to have been on a well-being holiday before?
No, each day is personalised to your capability and your needs.

Will I need a visa?
This depends on where you are going and what nationality your are. Please check at www.uk.cibt.com. You will, however, need at least 6 months remaining on your passport from the date you return from holiday.

How fit do I need to be?
all the holistic holidays are at a leisurely pace and take into account different fitnesses. It is a holiday so do not feel obliged to participate in every activity that is offered. Please consult your GP before taking on any health program or regime

How safe is it?
Sense Africa monitors what is happening in each country and keeps tabs on local issues.  We would never knowingly put you in danger from local or cultural strife, wildlife encounters or uncomfortable situations.  Sense Africa destinations welcome tourism with open arms, there will be memories of smiling faces and incredible experiences. The team at Sense Africa has a vast knowledge and many years' experience in travelling in Africa, and this will help ensure that you have a stress free and memorable holistic holiday.

What vaccinations do I need to have?
you will need a number of vaccinations to travel to Africa and are required to consult with your GP to determine which vaccinations you will need. Please check with your GP on the specific type of malaria prophylaxis that is best for you.

Will I see a snake?
Only if you are very, very lucky. Snakes are much more scared of you than you are of them - believe me this is true!

Will I be able to phone home?
Yes. There are a number of places that you will be able to get mobile reception, just make sure that you have international roaming before you leave the UK. Before departure, do check your overseas charges otherwise it could turn out to be a rather expensive issue!

Will I be able to recharge batteries, cameras and mobile phones?
Yes. Most accommodation has electricity and if not, you will have opportunities to recharge batteries and appliances beforehand. Just make sure your Sense Africa guide is aware of this.

What if the country I want to go to becomes unsafe?
Wherever possible we will offer an alternative location and/or alternative dates. We will always make every effort to run our trips as closely to the original itinerary as possible. For more detailed information on this please see our Terms and Conditions.

Are there age restrictions?
No, although there are some age restrictions on some of the more adventurous activities. Please ask Sense Africa.

What if I have more questions?
Please do not hesitate to contact Sense Africa with any other questions you may have.
