These notes must be read with the Terms and Conditions. Please read them. If you do not, Sense Africa can not be responsible for any misapprehensions about your trip.
Booking Procedure Sense Africa will take time with you to personally discuss the trip that bests suits you. You will be asked for a completed booking form with a £250.00 non-refundable deposit. If anything on the planned itinerary is not available, Sense Africa will discuss your options and can usually make an equal alternative. Unexpected Changes after Booking Sense Africa will confirm your trip price when you book. Once you have been issued with a confirmation invoice, we will absorb any price increases. If a lodge or camp becomes unavailable after Sense Africa has confirmed your itinerary, Sense Africa will contact you immediately to discuss alternative arrangements. Payment, Ticket Dispatch and Late Bookings The balance of your account is due 56 days before your departure. Tickets and an information pack will be sent to the address on your invoice before you leave. For late bookings Sense Africa requires the full amount to be paid immediately on confirmation. Please advise Sense Africa of address changes. Accommodation All accommodation on Sense Africa trips is comfortable, attractive and unique. Accommodation is based on standard twin rooms unless otherwise stated. Upgrades can be requested at an additional cost. If you request rooms with particular views, etc, we will pass on the request to the lodges and camps, although Sense Africa can not guarantee the request. Most accommodation has en-suite facilities, however, some places have separate or shared facilities and these will be identified before departure. A single supplement of £200.00 is required for those travelling separately. Passports and Visas All passports and visas are the responsibility of the Client. A standard 10-year passport is required for all travel and must be valid for at least six months after your return. It is your responsibility to ensure that you carry all the necessary documentation for the trip. Sense Africa will not be liable for any failure by the Client to discharge these responsibilities and the Client will have to reimburse Sense Africa for any costs it incurs as a result of failure. If you do not have a British passport, you must inform Sense Africa when you book. If Sense Africa is told later, then Sense Africa cannot be held responsible for any trouble, delays or extra costs incurred. All children over 16 must have their own passports. ATOL Protection The air holiday packages and flights shown are ATOL protected by the Civil Aviation Authority. Our ATOL number is 6323. The price of our air holiday packages include the amount of £1 per person as part of the ATOL Protection Contribution (APC) we pay to the CAA. This charge is included in our advertised prices. Please see our booking conditions for more information. Safety and Theft Theft is a problem in many continents, including Africa. It is advisable to take the same precautions as you would anywhere else world. Never leave valuables unattended, do not wander around the streets at dark and do not wear expensive jewelry when out walking. Never leave anything in the car (especially not on the back seat), as theft from cars is rising. Unfortunately mugging is also on the increase in many areas. It is your responsibility to take sensible precautions. For further information please look at the Foreign and Commonwealth Travel Advice Unit on Ceefax BBC2 or at www.fco.gov.u k Safety Standards and Regulations Safety standards and regulations in Africa are very different from the UK. The monitoring and enforcement of local regulations is a matter for those country's authorities. Sense Africa makes every effort to only use services or products, which meet the standards expected in the UK. Similarly, liability requirements vary from country to country, as does the responsibility placed on an organization by local law. Therefore, take all precautions to protect yourself and your party whilst in Africa. In particular, you should familiarize yourself with fire escape routes and regulations in national parks that you visit. Health All health certificates, inoculations and prophylactics etc. are the responsibility of the Client. Please consult your doctor for specific travel advice. Anti-malarial precautions should be started before departure. Insurance Sense Africa takes out insurance for clients. Please check your policy document before you travel for precise exclusions and the maximum limits on claims for stolen items. If you wish to take valuables overseas, then it is often easier to get cover for them under your household insurance. Food and Drink Please inform Sense Africa of any dietary requirements or allergies at time of booking. All soft drinks are included in the trip price. Local alcoholic beverages, such as beer, wine and spirits will be provided at meal times and quantity is at the discretion of Sense Africa. As are imported beverages. Special requests Special requests should be indicated in writing. Sense Africa will try to arrange special requests to be met, but cannot guarantee that they will be unless a supplement is charged. Adding requests after booking may incur a charge. Flights All flights from the UK are on scheduled carriers such as British Airways, South African Airways, Air Namibia, KLM and Virgin Atlantic. Flight upgrades can be arranged with prior notice where the Client must pay the difference in cost. Seats on Flights Sense Africa has no control over how much leg room (seat pitch) airlines allow on their aircraft. No guarantee can be given as to a particular seat configuration on board as aircrafts vary. However, these seat pitches are standard throughout the airline industry and comply with current civil aviation authority guidelines. Wild Animals In taking a trip anywhere overseas, you acknowledge that it involves risk. In Africa, particularly, wild animals can present threats to your safety and health. These risks are your responsibility. Sense Africa will do everything it can to ensure that you know of the risks. You can minimize the risks by following the guidelines and advice of your guide, and never walking out on your own. In camps where animals wander freely, make sure that you are escorted when you walk around the camp. Do not touch any plants, animals or insects, however harmless they appear to be. Please note that safari lodges may require you to sign personal indemnity forms and some indemnities are incorporated into the guest register. Children Sense Africa can arrange separate trips for families. Please remember that children can be unpredictable, particularly where animals are concerned. The risks in taking children abroad are entirely the responsibility of the adults accompanying them. Sense Africa, lodges and camps concerned, can accept no responsibility for any accident, which happens to a child, unless caused by their own negligence. Transport Sense Africa will take you around Swaziland and Namibia in the comfort of a large minibus which also gives maximum viewing opportunities. Other transport may include landrovers, depending on the activity and location. A Final Word Arrangements in Africa are rarely set in concrete. Sense Africa will try to ensure that your holiday runs as smoothly as possible. However, arrangements can go slightly askew due to local circumstances of which Sense Africa is unaware and has no control over and you may have to adapt your plans. Please try to be patient and understanding and kindly accept that life in Africa is not quite the same as the UK. |
