Sense Swaziland

The Kingdom of Swaziland gives you the opportunity to experience many of Africa's delights; close wildlife encounters on safari, tracking African wildlife on foot, culturally invigorating events and excellent local cuisine. It is a unique blend of ancient customs woven into every day life. With short travelling distances you can truly relax into the gentler pace of African life. It is a fascinating, safe and friendly Kingdom.

Swaziland is one of only three monarchies left in Africa. Led by His Majesty King Mswati III, the nation rejoices in its cultural traditions and national heritage. The King has a number of wives and children and the royal family name, Dlamini, is found throughout the Kingdom. With this in mind you will probably meet royalty during your stay although you may not realise it!

Swaziland hosts a wide range of scenic contrasts, from big game encounters on foot to magical scenery, traditional ceremonies to local cuisine and wildlife adventures to spectacular surroundings. It is truly an 'all senses' experience and an excellent African safari location.

Swaziland is the smallest country in the southern hemisphere, however, the kingdom has a wide range of ecological zones ranging from highveld forest to lowveld savannah. The highest mountains can be found in the western part of the country, and this has earned Swaziland the name 'Switzerland of Africa'. In contrast, the open plains and associated African animals can be found in eastern Swaziland, where there are opportunities to see African wildlife close-up, either by vehicle or even on foot!

"We do not inherit the earth from our forefathers, we borrow it from our children"
His Majesty King Sobhuza II of Swaziland
