Botswana is undoubtedly one of the most wildlife rich countries in Africa. Its diversity ranges from the unique flood plains of the Okavango Delta and the surrounding area of Moremi to the true wilderness of Chobe National Park. It is a wildlife enthusiasts ultimate dream location.

The Okavango is Botswana’s unique attraction. It is often called the Jewel of the Kalahari and is truly a premier wilderness destination. Moremi, a wilderness bordering the Okavango, is where there are extraordinary wildlife sightings, and is often one of the most memorable experiences that you will have in Africa. From Xuguna Island Lodge you get to explore all aspects of the Okavango. Then onto Chobe which has the largest population of elephants in Africa where you drive through this wilderness and also see wildlife from the river, a real dream of a safari.

Days 1 – 3: Leroo La Tau – visions across the salt pan 
Botswana accommodationSalt pan magic, explore the wide open spaces of this extraordinary location – Leroo La Tau translates as ‘lion’s paw’ and the surrounding area features not only abundant lion, but also zebra and wildebeest, along with a host of other species.

Accommodation: en-suite chalets with thatched roofs and glass frontage to emphasise the outlook.  Each chalet has wood flooring throughout and an extended wooden veranda accessed by glass sliding doors.

Days 4 – 6 : Xugana Island – remote Okavango experience
Botswana mokoro OkavangoXugana Lagoon is widely accepted as being the most spectacular permanent water site in the entire Okavango Delta, which in the midst of the Kalahari sands, is Africa’s largest and most awe-inspiring oasis. Explore the area by dugout canoe and see wildlife from a different perspective.

Accommodation:large raised reed and thatch lagoon facing chalets, with en-suite facilities and private viewing decks situated on the shaded fringe of the island.

Days 7 – 9: Savuti Safari Lodge – Big Game country
Botswana elephants ChobeStretching from the Linyanti River all the way to Savute Marsh, the winding waterways of the Savute Channel have pumped life into the western section of Chobe National Park for many thousands of generations. A wildlife extravaganza awaits you!

Accommodation: thatched chalets built of local timber. The chalets, which have been elegantly furnished in calm neutral tones to blend with the natural environment, feature expansive private decks, a combined bedroom and lounge area and en suite facilities.

Days 10 – 12: Muchenje Lodge – Chobe river safaris
Botswana lionsMuchenje offers the discerning traveller a unique wilderness experience in a stunning location with unspoilt, game viewing experiences. The elegant lodge, incorporates a dining deck with amazing views, bar, viewing deck and a natural swimming pool. Muchenje is located on the western side of Chobe and away from the more popular parts of Chobe where there are more visitors

Accommodation: en-suite suites has a unique, panoramic view of the flood plain seen from a private, shaded veranda from which to take in the sights and sounds of Africa.
