Self-drive Safari in Swaziland and Namibia | Sense Africa

Self-drive Safari

“The sense of freedom on a self-drive safari is a great feeling, it is one of my favourite ways of travelling around southern Africa. I love taking Africa at a slow pace and immersing myself into the surrounding scenery.” Jenny Bowen, Director and founder.

Why go on a Self-drive Safari?

Self-drive safaris are wonderful way to travel. The destinations we recommend for self-drives are set in Swaziland and Namibia. They are both set up for the independent traveller; safe destinations which are easy to navigate, your time is your own and you can stop whenever you want to. There is also an element of flexibility to your holiday so you can take each days as it comes. It really is your choice when you depart your accommodation and when you arrive at the next and what you see and do on the way.

Let’s create your own adventure, together we can make a plan.

Your Safety

Travelling by yourself can be quite daunting for some, we pride ourselves on giving you all the back up and security you need. When on your self-drive you are met on arrival, given a local cell phone for emergencies and a cool box to store your drinks and lunch.

We also talk through your route, give advice on where to stop to see things of interest that maybe others might miss. In-country representatives also make sure you are familiar with your car before you drive to your first night’s accommodation. Driving is on the left as in the UK. It is that simple.

What Past Guests Say

Mark Jarrett
“The organisation behind my holiday was excellent, as was the accommodation selected. All I seemed to have to do was to drive the car and be at the right place at the right time.”
